2.1 Overview

This chapter introduces the AIUNIFY Analytics user interface and explains how to navigate the system before configuring your first tracked Website.

AIUNIFY Analytics is organized around Websites. Most reporting areas—including the Dashboard, Goals, Outbound Clicks, Realtime, Pageviews, Visitors, Heatmaps, and Replays—display information for the Website that is currently selected.

If no Website is available to your account, attempting to open the Dashboard sends you to the Websites area instead.

The basic starting workflow is:

Sign In → Select or Add a Website → Choose Tracking Type → Configure Website → Install Tracking Code → Begin Reviewing Analytics

2.2 Understanding the Analytics Interface

After signing in, the application interface is divided primarily into:

  1. Website Selector
  2. Main Navigation Sidebar
  3. Top Application Menu
  4. Account Menu
  5. Main Content Area

These areas work together to let you choose which Website you are analyzing and which Analytics function you want to use.

2.3 Website Selector

At the top of the Analytics application is the Website Selector.

When Websites have been added to your account, the selector displays the currently selected Website using its domain and favicon.

For example:

example.com

or, when tracking a specific path:

example.com/path

Selecting the Website control opens a list of Websites available to you.

To switch Websites

  1. Open the Website Selector.
  2. Review the Websites available to your account.
  3. Select the Website you want to analyze.
  4. AIUNIFY Analytics switches the active Website.
  5. The system returns you to the Analytics area you were using with the newly selected Website.

The application remembers the selected Website in the browser so that it can continue using that Website as your current Analytics property.

Active and disabled Websites

The Website list also indicates the tracking state of each Website.

A Website can appear as:

  1. Active
  2. Disabled

This makes it easier to determine whether tracking is currently enabled for a particular Website.

2.4 Searching Your Website List

If your account contains more than five Websites, the Website Selector provides a Search field.

To locate a Website:

  1. Open the Website Selector.
  2. Click the Search field.
  3. Begin typing the Website's domain or path.
  4. Analytics filters the Website list as you type.
  5. Select the Website you want to open.

You can also press Enter to open the first visible search result.

This is especially useful for users managing multiple Websites.

2.5 Main Navigation Sidebar

The primary Analytics functions appear in the application's sidebar.

The actual user navigation includes:

  1. Dashboard
  2. Goals
  3. Outbound Clicks
  4. Realtime
  5. Pageviews
  6. Visitors
  7. Heatmaps
  8. Replays
  9. Annotations
  10. Websites
  11. Teams
  12. Domains, when enabled
  13. Help

Some of these items only appear when the corresponding functionality is available for the selected Website or your account.

The sidebar uses icons, with the menu name available as the navigation label or tooltip.

2.6 Dashboard

The Dashboard is the main reporting area for the currently selected Website.

Use Dashboard to review Website activity and move into additional analytical views.

The Dashboard supports reporting areas such as:

  1. Pageviews
  2. Sessions
  3. Visitors
  4. Paths
  5. Referrers
  6. Screen resolutions
  7. UTMs
  8. Operating systems
  9. Device types
  10. Continents
  11. Countries
  12. Cities
  13. Browser names
  14. Browser languages
  15. Browser timezones
  16. Goals
  17. Realtime
  18. Themes
  19. Outbound Clicks
  20. Hours
  21. Weekdays

The Website must exist before the Dashboard can display Website Analytics. If no Website is available, Analytics redirects you to Websites.

2.7 Goals

The Goals navigation item opens conversion tracking for the selected Website.

Goals allow you to measure important Website actions, such as:

  1. Reaching a specified page
  2. Completing a desired action
  3. Triggering a custom JavaScript event

Goals are covered in detail later in this manual.

2.8 Outbound Clicks

Outbound Clicks displays activity generated when visitors click links leading away from your Website.

This section helps you review:

  1. Outbound click volume
  2. Destination domains
  3. Destination paths
  4. External-link activity

The navigation provides Outbound Clicks as its own reporting view.

Outbound Click tracking must also be enabled for the Website if you want Analytics to collect that information.

2.9 Realtime

Select Realtime when you want to see recent Website activity as it happens.

Realtime Analytics reports approximately the last 60 seconds of activity and refreshes automatically.

It can provide information such as:

  1. Active users
  2. Recent Pageviews
  3. Current countries
  4. Devices
  5. Pages being accessed

Realtime is useful after installing the Tracking Code because it can help you observe whether Website activity is reaching Analytics.

2.10 Pageviews

The Pageviews section displays tracked Website page activity.

The interface describes Pageviews as the visitor events tracked on the selected Website.

Pageviews is available under both Analytics tracking modes, although the underlying data and available visitor detail differ between Advanced and Lightweight Tracking.

The system automatically directs the Pageviews area to the appropriate version based on the selected Website's tracking type.

2.11 Visitors

The Visitors section is used to review individual visitor activity and visitor history.

It is available when the currently selected Website uses Advanced Tracking.

You can use Visitors to explore information such as:

  1. Visitor activity
  2. Sessions
  3. Visitor journey
  4. Average time per Session
  5. Average Sessions per Visitor
  6. Device and system information
  7. Session Events

The source confirms that the Visitors navigation is displayed for the application's Advanced/normal tracking type and is not displayed for Lightweight-tracked Websites.

2.12 Heatmaps

The Heatmaps section is available when:

  1. The selected Website uses Advanced Tracking, and
  2. Heatmap functionality is enabled for the Analytics system/account.

Heatmaps allow you to create visual interaction reports for specific Website pages.

The interface provides a separate Heatmaps navigation area and a Create heatmap function.

2.13 Replays

The Replays section provides access to recorded visitor Session Replays when the feature is available.

Like Heatmaps, Replays are associated with Advanced Tracking.

The system exposes a dedicated Replays menu when Session Replay functionality is enabled.

If you select Lightweight Tracking for a Website, you should not expect Visitors, Heatmaps, and Replays to function in the same way as they do under Advanced Tracking.

2.14 Annotations

When enabled, Annotations appears in the sidebar.

The system identifies these as Chart annotations.

Annotations let you place business milestones directly on Analytics charts so you can relate changes in Website performance to specific events.

Examples include:

  1. Campaign launches
  2. Website updates
  3. Promotions
  4. Product launches
  5. Major business events

The Annotations area lets you add and manage those milestones.

2.15 Websites

The Websites area is one of the most important sections of AIUNIFY Analytics.

It is where you:

  1. View Websites
  2. Add a Website
  3. Edit a Website
  4. Configure tracking
  5. Retrieve the Tracking Code
  6. Enable or disable tracking
  7. Review Website usage
  8. Access Website-specific controls

The system describes this area as:

Websites — View and manage all your added websites.

2.16 Adding Your First Website

If your account does not yet contain a Website, start in Websites.

To begin

  1. Select Websites from the navigation.
  2. Click Add website.
  3. The Add website screen opens.

The Websites page displays an Add website button when your account is permitted to add another Website.

The Add Website form begins with:

  1. Name
  2. Website
  3. Website protocol:
  4. https://
  5. http://
  6. Custom Domain, when available
  7. Tracking type

Do not choose the Tracking Type casually

The Add Website screen gives you:

  1. Lightweight Tracking
  2. Advanced Tracking

The interface warns that:

The tracking type cannot be changed later on.

For this reason, this manual places a full explanation of the two modes in Chapter 3 — Understanding Advanced vs. Lightweight Tracking before we walk through the complete Website creation process.

2.17 Website Tracking Status

The Add Website screen includes a Tracking switch.

This controls whether tracking for that Website is enabled or disabled.

If Tracking is disabled, the Website can remain configured in your Analytics account while activity collection is turned off.

This status is also reflected in the Website Selector, where Websites can be marked active or disabled.

2.18 Initial Tracking Options

While creating a Website, Analytics may present additional options depending on your tracking mode and account capabilities.

These can include:

  1. Track Outbound Clicks
  2. Track Visitors Events
  3. Session Replays
  4. Email Reports
  5. Public Statistics
  6. Bot Exclusion
  7. Track Query Parameters
  8. IP Tracking
  9. Excluded IPs
  10. Session Replay Hide Text Selector

You do not need to understand every advanced setting before navigating the system.

Later chapters will explain each option separately.

2.19 Understanding Conditional Menu Items

AIUNIFY Analytics adjusts parts of its interface according to the selected Website.

This means that changing Websites may also change which features you see.

For example, when the selected Website uses Advanced Tracking, the sidebar can display:

  1. Visitors
  2. Heatmaps
  3. Replays

When the Website uses Lightweight Tracking, those Advanced Tracking-specific areas are not presented in the same way.

Other functions can also depend on whether the particular feature has been enabled for the Analytics system or your account.

These include:

  1. Heatmaps
  2. Replays
  3. Annotations
  4. Domains
  5. API access

Therefore, it is normal for two Analytics users—or two Websites within the same account—to have slightly different available functions.

2.20 Teams

Select Teams to access Analytics collaboration functionality.

The system allows you to:

  1. Create Teams
  2. Invite Members
  3. Join Teams
  4. Share Website access
  5. Remove access

When working within a Team, the application can display the active Team near the Website Selector.

Team functionality will be explained in detail later in the manual.

2.21 Domains

If enabled, Domains appears as a separate navigation option.

Domains are used with the system's Custom Domain tracking functionality.

The sidebar only displays Domains when that Analytics capability is enabled.

If you do not see Domains, this does not indicate a problem with your account. The feature may simply not be available for your configuration.

2.22 Help

The sidebar includes a Help area.

The application's own help content covers subjects such as:

  1. Introduction
  2. Lightweight Tracking
  3. Advanced Tracking
  4. Goals
  5. Custom Parameters
  6. Opt-Out
  7. Other tracking-related guidance

The AIUNIFY Knowledge Base expands on those system concepts with the complete User Operations Manual you are currently reading.

2.23 Account Menu

Your user account appears in the application's top menu with your:

  1. Avatar
  2. Name
  3. Email address

Selecting the user menu provides access to account-related functions.

Depending on the enabled account features, these can include:

  1. Account
  2. Preferences
  3. Plan
  4. Payments
  5. API
  6. Teams
  7. Logout

Additional optional functions can appear when enabled.

2.24 Account

Select Account to manage your personal account information.

Available account settings can include:

  1. Name
  2. Email
  3. Avatar
  4. Timezone
  5. Password
  6. Two-Factor Authentication
  7. Anti-phishing code
  8. Billing information
  9. Newsletter preference

The system specifically uses your Timezone as your preferred way of displaying dates.

Because Analytics reports are time-based, setting the correct timezone is recommended.

2.25 Preferences

Select Preferences to configure how you want certain parts of the application to behave.

Available preferences can include:

  1. Default results per page
  2. Default results order
  3. Website default sorting
  4. Heatmap default sorting
  5. Domain default sorting
  6. Annotation default sorting
  7. Goal default sorting
  8. White-label options when available

The interface describes Preferences as the place to set options related to how you use the site.

2.26 API

If API functionality is enabled, the Account menu can contain an API option.

This area is used to access or regenerate the API key associated with your account.

The API is an advanced function and is not required for normal Dashboard or Website tracking operations.

Users who need programmatic access to Analytics data will be guided through this functionality later in the manual.

2.27 Notifications

When user notifications are enabled, a notification/bell control can appear in the Analytics sidebar.

A notification indicator can appear when you have unread or pending system notifications.

Check these notifications when they appear because they may contain account or system information relevant to your use of Analytics.

2.28 Your Recommended First-Time Setup

When using AIUNIFY Analytics for the first time, follow this order:

Step 1 — Sign in

Access your AIUNIFY Analytics account.

Step 2 — Review your Account

Confirm that your:

  1. Name
  2. Email
  3. Timezone

are correct.

Security options such as password management and Two-Factor Authentication can also be configured from Account.

Step 3 — Open Websites

Select Websites from the sidebar.

Step 4 — Determine whether a Website already exists

If a Website is already listed, you can select it and begin reviewing its configuration.

If no Website exists, select Add website.

Step 5 — Learn the Tracking Modes before creating the Website

Before choosing between:

  1. Lightweight Tracking
  2. Advanced Tracking

read Chapter 3.

This decision affects the functionality available for that Website and cannot be changed later through the normal Website configuration.

Step 6 — Add and configure the Website

Enter the Website information and choose the appropriate tracking options.

Step 7 — Obtain and install the Tracking Code

Once the Website has been created, obtain its Tracking Code and install it on the Website.

Step 8 — Confirm that tracking is working

After the Tracking Code has been installed, generate Website activity and review:

  1. Realtime
  2. Pageviews
  3. Dashboard

to determine whether Analytics is receiving data.

Step 9 — Configure additional functionality

After basic tracking works, configure the capabilities appropriate for your Website, such as:

  1. Goals
  2. Outbound Clicks
  3. Visitor Events
  4. Heatmaps
  5. Replays
  6. Email Reports
  7. Custom Parameters
  8. Team access

2.29 If the Dashboard Shows No Data

If you open the Dashboard and see no Analytics activity, the application's own Dashboard guidance says to make sure the Tracking Code has been properly installed.

A new Website will not produce useful Analytics reports until:

  1. The Website has been created.
  2. Tracking is enabled.
  3. The correct Tracking Code has been installed.
  4. Visitors begin generating trackable activity.

Troubleshooting tracking installation will be covered in a later chapter.

2.30 Navigation Tips

Keep these operating principles in mind when working in AIUNIFY Analytics:

Always check the selected Website.

Most reports are Website-specific. Before analyzing data, verify that the correct Website appears in the Website Selector.

Expect features to vary by Tracking Type.

Advanced Tracking exposes additional visitor-behavior capabilities.

Do not assume a missing menu indicates an error.

Some features only display when enabled.

Configure your timezone.

Analytics uses your account timezone when working with time-based Website data.

Start with basic tracking before advanced features.

Confirm that Dashboard, Realtime, or Pageview data is being received before configuring more complex behavioral reporting.

2.31 Getting Ready for Website Setup

You are now familiar with the main AIUNIFY Analytics interface.

Before creating your first Website, however, there is one decision that requires more explanation:

Which Tracking Type should you choose?

AIUNIFY Analytics offers Lightweight Tracking and Advanced Tracking, and the choice determines whether functionality such as visitor-history association, Heatmaps, Session Replays, Visitor Events, and Custom Parameters is available.

Because the application states that the Tracking Type cannot be changed after Website creation, understand the difference before proceeding.
